At least three bombs were hurdled at a local BJP leader’s house in Hooghly district of West Bengal on Monday night.

The leader has been identified as Ajay Kumar Chakraborty. Chakraborty and his wife were asleep inside their home when the incident took place.

The BJP leader along with his wife managed to escape. They suffered minor injuries.

However, the roof was damaged significantly in the attack.

Chakraborty stays in Tarakeswar, a city and a municipality in Hooghly.

The BJP has accused the Trinamool Congress of orchestrating the attack.

The party said that TMC workers are misusing the police and attacking opposition leaders to silence them.

The Trinamool Congress, however, refuted the allegations

In another incident, former Hooghly district BJP president Krishna Bhattacharya was injured when her house was attacked by alleged Trinamool Congress workers on Tuesday night, India Today reported.

Miscreants also hurdled a bomb in front of her house.

At around 9.30 pm, TMC-led miscreants attacked Bhattacharya’s house. During the attack, the leader was allegedly beaten up by a group of people before ransacking her house.

Bhattacharya was rushed to the hospital.
