Restaurants in Guwahati are now allowed to operate on both sides of the road from Monday to Friday during the non-curfew hours.

The decision was taken in a meeting on Tuesday by the Kamrup (Metro) District administration.

However, as per the decision, no one will be allowed to serve food on the spot and only take-away service including online service has been allowed.

In a tweet, the Kamrup (Metro) administration said, “Based on directions from the govt., it is hereby clarifier that restaurants and hospitality services are allowed to function from Monday to Friday on both side of the street during non-curfew hours in Kamrup district on take away basis including online home delivery.”

It may be mentioned here that un-lock in Guwahati began from Monday and as per the initial decision, shops and restaurants on either side of the roads/streets were allowed to operate on alternate days.
