Union Minister for Ayush, Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday inaugurated OPD unit of Composite Ayush Hospital Mangalore in Karnataka.

The 50-bedded Ayush multi-speciality hospital was planned and sanctioned in 2016 and was successfully accomplished in 2020.

Due to the Covid19 pandemic, the opening ceremony was delayed and following Covid-appropriate behaviour, the inaugural ceremony was organized by the Central and State Ayush Mission.

For the successful functioning of Ayush OPD (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy) and allopathy and in future, there would be advanced and special treatment facilities.

The treatment modalities in Ayurveda Panchakarma, Jalouka (leach therapy), Ksharasutra, Abhyanga are available in the hospital, said a statement.

In Naturopathy Hydrotherapy, Acupuncture, Acupressure, Colour Therapy, Magnetic Therapy, Physiotherapy are also available.

In Unani, Dhalak and Hijama are available.

Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal attended the inaugural programme as the chief guest.

The hospital is built with a budget of Rs 9 crore.

On the ground floor of the hospital, there are the OPD, Pharmacy, Laboratary and treatment sections.

On the 1st floor, there is the administration section.

The 2nd floor has 20-bedded general ward, 5 special wards with panchakarma female section.

The 3rd floor has 5 specials wards, 20-bedded general ward and modular operation theatre.

Besides, there is the diet kitchen and nutrition clinic.
