Guwahati: The banned militant outfit, United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) on Independence Day claimed that it had planted bombs across 19 locations in Assam.
However, the out stated that the bombs failed due to technical errors.
Of the 19 locations across Assam, eight were in the state capital Guwahati.

The group claimed that it intended to detonate the explosives during Independence Day celebrations as a form of “armed protest.”
However, “technical errors” prevented the bombs from exploding between 6 am and 12 noon as planned.

The ULFA-I also released a list of the targeted locations, along with photographs of some of the bomb sites, including one near the state secretariat in Dispur, Guwahati.
ULFA-I, which demands “sovereign Assam,” has been boycotting Independence Day celebrations.
An investigation has been initiated by the police.
Police teams have reportedly been disposed to search for the bombs as per a list released by the banned militant out fit.
