U. S. Consulate partners with Asian Confluence

Celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week 2020, the U. S. Consulate General Kolkata in partnership with implementing partner Asian Confluence on Friday will launch the White House-led “Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE)” program.

AWE’s maiden launch in India will be kicked off at 3 pm on Friday by Acting Consul General Monica Shie.

The initiative brings together 150 women entrepreneurs early-stage business owners from Nagaland, Meghalaya, Assam, Manipur, and Arunachal Pradesh.

The women entrepreneurs will be mentored and supported through this two-year project.

Marie Royce, Assistant Secretary of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), U. S. Department of State, will deliver special remarks at the event.

Sabya Dutta, Executive Director, Asian Confluence, K. Moses Chalai, Secretary, North Eastern Council, B. Paul Muktieh, Chairman and Managing Director, NEDFi, and Jahnabi Phookan, National President of FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO) and U.S. State Department alumni will join the program to encourage the participants and share their insights.
