Seven more COVID-19 patients died in Assam on Saturday, taking the death toll in the state to 234, health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
“Demise of 7 Covid patients~ Late Rajesh Dutta (46) of Jorhat; Late Cheni Devi Jain (77) & Late Khetradhar Gogoi (60) of D’garh; Late Bholenath Dusad (63) of Cachar; Late Jatin Ch Das (55) of Kamrup R; Late Nur Islam Mirdha (60) of Sonitpur; Late Sudhir Kr Das (77) of Kamrup M,” Sarma said in a tweet.
The state has so far reported 87,908 cases of COVID-19.
There are 22,082 active cases in the state at present, while 65,596 patients have recovered.
The state on Friday tested 36,180 samples for the novel coronavirus while the positivity rate reached 5.12 percent.
