The different communities of state have maintained their rich diverse culture which in turn has helped in fostering the bond of brotherhood among the people. In present times the rich cultural tradition of our ancestors is kept alive by the rural folks rather than city folks said Lok Sabha MP, Ramen Deka  in the open session of silver jubilee celebration of Khonsaipara Rongjali Bwisagu.

Speaking as the chief guest in the open session the parliamentarian stated that the Rongali Bihu celebrated in different ways by different communities has reflected the bonding of different communities and tribes of the state at Khonsaipara village near Tangla in Udalguri on Saturday..

While stressing the need to preserve the local culture he exhorted the younger generation to follow the legacy of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika along with extending his best wishes of Assamese new year to the people.

He urged the Bodo society to celebrate the Bwisagu festival and keep alive the traditional Bodo cultural values.

Speaking on the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana he exhorted the people not to pay a single penny for new domestic gas connection. He also apprised the people on the health protection scheme Ayushman Bharat which will cover over 10 crore families providing coverage upto 5 lakhs per family for secondary and tertiary care hospitilization.

He also mentioned that for better road communication a total of 430 kms of road have been sanctioned by central government in Udalguri district. He announced a financial grant of 2 lakhs for the renovation of Khonsaipara Bathaou Mandir from his MPLAD fund.

The program earlier started with a traditional Bwisagu dance and felicitation of all the guests with the traditional Aronai. Earlier the programme witnessed plantation drive, release of souvenir ‘Bima None’.

The cultural night in the evening was inaugurated by BTC EM Bonjar Daimari.
