The railway protection force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) has rescued five minor children at the Guwahati Railway Station

In one incident, an RPF lady constable on duty noticed a minor girl entering through the main gate of the Guwahati Railway Station alone at 6.45 am on Friday.

When the lady constable approached the girl, she disclosed her name and also informed that she had fled away from her home at Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh.

The girl intended to go to Delhi in search of a job without the knowledge of her parents or other family members.

The girl was brought to the RPF office, where RPF officials checked the bag she was carrying.

An Aadhar card, a school identity card, some clothes, a mobile, two bank passbooks and cash worth Rs 1,430 were found in her bag.

RPF officials informed the young girls’ brother about her rescue and handed her over to the Railway Childline Guwahati.

In another incident, RPF officials along with Railway Childline Guwahati while conducting a search at the Guwahati Railway Station on Friday, noticed four minor boys wandering about on platform number 7.

On approaching them, the boys revealed that they had run away from their homes to Guwahati by train in search of employment.

While three of the minors hailed from Begusarai in Bihar and the fourth was a resident of Samastipur districts of the state.

However, the boys could not provide any contact number of their parents or relatives.

They were later handed over to the Railway Childline Guwahati.

In yet another incident, RPF officials along with government railway police and SB of Tripura detained one lady with 16 packets of brown sugar on January 21 at the Agartala Railway Station.

She had reportedly travelled to Agartala from Silchar and was accompanied by her husband, who managed to flee from the spot.

The market value of brown sugar was estimated to be about Rs 6 lakhs.
