ASOMI, a Pune-based socio-cultural organization formed by Assamese people, recently hosted a virtual event to welcome the youths from Assam who have recently moved to Pune for work or higher studies.

The event that lasted for three hours saw a large number of youths joining from Pune and Assam as well.

It ended on a high note with brilliant and energetic performances by the invited artists and engaging interactions from the audience.

The event started with a welcome speech by Bishmita Dutta Baruah, the joint cultural secretary of Asomi.

Priyankan Goswami, the joint general secretary of Asomi enlightened the audience with a brief introduction about the organization.

The event treated the audience to a musical extravaganza with the performances of many prominent artistes from the Northeast.

Assamese singer Manashee Devi, actress Monisha Bhuyan, singer Rideep Das, singer Sushmita Baruah and musician Silman Marak electrified the event with their amazing performances.

The event witnessed the active participation of the youth members from the audience.

Also, a ppt presentation was made showcasing the lockdown activities of the youths.

The fun-filled event came to an end with the felicitation of Rajumoni Bora, who extended a lot of help to the people in distress during the lockdown period.

ASOMI is a community of Assamese diaspora in Pune working towards bridging the gap between the Northeast and Maharashtra by undertaking socio-cultural activities and cultural exchange.
