With the objective of bringing a sense of sportsmanship among the masses, a friendly football match was organised between the National Thermal Power Station (NTPC), Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar Press Club on Friday.
The match was organised on the occasion of 15th Foundation day celebration of Bongaigaon Thermal Power Station.
The football match was inaugurated by NTPC Bongaigaon group general manager Rakesh Kumar in presence of other senior officials, media persons and locals.
The NTPC team thrashed Kokrajhar Press Club by 6 goals to 1 goal.
In his speech, Rakesh Kumar said sports is necessary for both physical and mental fitness and called upon all to keep themselves fit and healthy.
Earlier, addressing the media, Rakesh Kumar said that the NTPC Bongaigaon has achieved various milestones in during 2019-20 season.
“We recorded highest ever daily Ash utilization in the 2019-2020 season. The utilization is 1523.5 MT. DC (with 3 units running) and this is over 100 per cent achieved continuously for 2 months,” Kumar said.
“We are also happy to share that UNIT #1, which has been running on continuous hours, have recorded zero forced outage,” he added.
