Top political leaders from the Northeast – Congress’ Gaurav Gogoi and TIPRA chairman Pradyot Debbarma have come out in support of Indian pacer Mohammad Shami.
Indian pacer Mohammad Shami was subjected to abuse across social media platforms following the Indian cricket team’s humiliating loss to Pakistan in the ongoing T20 World Cup.
Pakistan defeated India by 10 wickets in their opening match of the ICC T20 World Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday evening.
Coming out in support of Shami, Assam Congress MP and deputy leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha – Gaurav Gogoi said: “Mohammed Shami, don’t let the haters get to you. India is grateful for the hard work and dedication you exhibit when you represent the on the global cricket stage.”
