The Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) has begun unloading of food grains from trains at the newly commissioned Food Corporation of India (FCI) siding at Archipathar Station under Rangia railway division in Assam.
The FCI siding at Archipathar Station in Assam’s Dhemaji district was commissioned keeping in view the need for food security for the region amidst the ongoing second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to sources in NFR the first two rakes of food grains have already arrived for unloading at the site.
The NFR has also been running special Kisan Rail trains to transport food grains and other edible items to the Northeastern states amidst the pandemic.
The Kisan Rail trains transport agricultural produce and perishable milk products, meat and fish, thereby allowing farmers and traders to reach a wider market.
