Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to run one superfast special train from Dibrugarh in Assam Upper to Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu.

“The train will run on weekly basis from this month and will have 57 stoppages along the full journey from Dibrugarh to Kanyakumari,” NFR chief public relations officer Subhanan Chanda said.

The train will traverse through several states holding the prestigious record of being the longest running route in India both in terms of distance as well as time, he added.

The NFR official informed that it has also been decided to run one-way special trains from New Tinsukia and Guwahati to Jammu Tawi.

“These trains will be run for the benefit of waitlisted passengers of Northeast who planned to travel towards Northern India,” Chand said in a statement.

Among these trains, Train No. 05906 Dibrugarh – Kanyakumari Superfast Special will run every Saturday, leaving from Dibrugarh at 7-25 pm with effect from February 27, 2021 to reach Kanyakumari at 10-00 pm on the fourth day.

In return direction, Train No. 05905 Kanyakumari – Dibrugarh Superfast Special will run every Thursday, leaving from Kanyakumari at 5-30 pm with effect from March 4, 2021 to reach Dibrugarh at 8-50 pm on the fourth day.

The train will have AC coach, sleeper coach and general second class coach with reserved accommodation facilities for the passengers.

Train No. 05657 Guwahati – Jammu Tawi one-way special will leave from Guwahati at 10-45 am on February 26, 2021 (Friday) to reach Jammu Tawi at 1-45 pm on February 28, 2021 (Sunday).

“The train will have AC-3 tier coach and general second class coach with reserved accommodation facilities for the passengers,” the statement said.

Another Train No. 05957 New Tinsukia – Jammu Tawi one way special will leave New Tinsukia at 10-30 pm on February 27, 2021 (Saturday) to reach Jammu Tawi at 1-45 pm on March 2, 2021 (Tuesday).

The train will have AC-3 tier coach, sleeper coach and general second class coach with reserved accommodation facilities for the passengers.

The details of timings and stoppages of these trains are available on Railway’s website and are also being notified in various newspapers and social media platforms of Northeast Frontier Railway.

The NF Railway authority has requested the passengers to see the details before their journey.
