GUWAHATI: Assam MP Abdul Khaleque is poised to retract his resignation from the Congress party.

This was claimed by Assam Congress president Bhupen Borah.

Assam Congress president Bhupen Borah made this claim after paying a visit to Abdul Khaleque’s residence on Friday (March 15).

Borah’s visit to Khaleque’s residence followed the latrer’s resignation after being denied Congress ticket to contest in Lok Sabha elections from Assam.

The Assam Congress chief said that hr engaged in discussions and provided assurances to Abdul Khaleque.

Notably, Abdul Khaleque, visibly upset over the denial of a Lok Sabha ticket, had tendered his resignation from the primary membership of the Congress party on Friday (March 15).

In his resignation letter to Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge, Abdul Khaleque blamed the party leadership for his decision to quit the party.
