As part of the preparations for the National Games, 2022, Meghalaya Games will be held next month.
This was decided by the organising committee of Meghalaya Games, 2019 chaired by Meghalaya sports minister Banteidor Lyngdoh at the state Secretariat on Monday evening.
Lyngdoh told reporters that around 2,500 athletes would take part in the Meghalaya Games which is part of the preparations for the National Games.
By organisng this event, the government will be also able to scout talents in 14 disciplines which comprised both outdoor and indoor games.
The Meghalaya Games will be held tentatively from December 16 to 21.
The main venue is the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Polo.
