Chief ministers of Assam and Meghalaya, on Thursday, discussed the inter-state border issue.
The meeting between the chief ministers of the neighbouring states was held virtually.
Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma were joined by senior officials of their respective states.
Chairmen and members of the three regional committees, which were formed last month were present at a virtual meeting.
Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma informed that the three regional committees will submit their reports by October 20.

“The Chairmen of the 3 Regional Committees of both States will conduct meetings, hold consultations with stakeholders, make site visits and will submit the report of their findings by 20th October, 2021,” Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma said.

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted: “To ensure lasting solution to border issues in true spirit of brotherhood, held a VC with HCM Meghalaya Sri @SangmaConrad. Six Regional Committees formed earlier (3 from each state) will complete joint inspections in areas of difference by Oct 20 for mutually agreeable solutions.”
