A giant six meter long python weighing more than forty kilogram was captured here this afternoon at a paddy field in Ahompather village of Jagun forest range under Digboi Forest Division in Tinsukia District.
The giant python was spotted in the field when the villagers were returning from agricultural work.
Meanwhile, on being informed the forest personnels came to the site and safely recovered the creature with the active assistance of the local youths and later released the python in the nearby Tinkupani Reserve Forest.
