GUWAHATI: The scheduled visit of union home minister Amit Shah, slated to address election rallies in Hojai, Gohpur and Lakhimpur in poll-bound Assam on April 07 and 08, has been rescheduled to April 11.

Additionally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Nalbari in Assam on April 17, as announced by Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced the names of star campaigners who will actively engage in campaigning across Assam.

Notable figures such as union minister Smriti Irani and MP Manoj Tiwari are expected to visit the Dibrugarh constituency in Assam to bolster the party’s campaign efforts in the coming week.

Assam is gearing up for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, scheduled in three stages on April 19, April 26, and May 7.

With a vast electorate of nearly 96.8 crore spread across over 12 lakh polling stations, the electoral process will unfold in seven phases starting April 19, with the vote counting slated for June 4.
