The issue of alleged “land grabbing by the family of Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma” has rocked the first day of the winter session of state Assembly.

Opposition MLAs had moved an adjournment motion in the Assam Assembly to discuss the “land grabbing” allegations against the Assam chief minister.

However, the adjournment motion was rejected by the Speaker of Assam assembly – Biswajit Daimary.

Rejection of the adjournment motion, without mentioning the issue, irked the opposition MLAs and they created ruckus in the Floor of the House.
