Himanta Biswa Sarma has been dreaming of becoming Assam Chief Minister since a very long time,” alleged All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal on Saturday.

Ajmal said Sarma had always dreamt of becoming the CM while he was in the Congress.

“But he knew that this dream will never become true if he remained in Congres. So, he left the party and joined the BJP, even after criticising it severely during the 2014 Lok Sabha poll,” Ajmal further alleged.

During the 2014 Lok Sabha election campaign, Sarma firing salvo at the then Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi said, “Blood flows through the water pipes of Gujarat.”

Modi was charged of 2002 Gujarat riots. He was the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2002.

“Soon, he will sideline Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and clear his way. Because if this dream, the BJP is crumbling from within,” Ajmal further alleged.

Further countering Sarma, who recently said with 15 years the AIUDF chief will become Assam CM Ajmal said, “If he thinks, then I will definitely become the CM one day”.

“Himanta Biswa Sarma can predict election results accurately. He exactly knows which party will win. If he says I will become the CM then definitely I will become the CM one day,” Ajmal reiterated.

Lashing out at the BJP for bringing in CAA, Ajmal said, “Through the CAA the BJP is trying to create a fear among the Muslim population of the country and realise their dream of making India a Hindu nation.”

“What they are doing is against the secular fabric of the Indian Constitution. In 2021 the BJP in Assam will have to face the consequences of supporting Citizenship (Amendment) Act in Assam,” Ajmal added.

“They have already lost a number of assembly elections, most recent being the Jharkhand assembly poll. They will be defeated in New Delhi as well and will be defeated in Assam in 2021,” Ajmal reiterated.
