The 33rd Guwahati Book Fair has been postponed, in the wake of coronavirus scare. This was informed by Assam Publication Board secretary Pramod Kalita on Sunday.
The 33rd Guwahati Book Fair was scheduled from March 14 to March 25 at Assam Engineering Institue playground in Guwahati.
“As the number of coronavirus cases has been reported recently in India, hence, following the directives of union health department we have decided to postpone the book fair until further notice,” Kalita said.
“With due regard to the growing concerns around the spread of the COVID-19 virus and keeping the health and safety book lovers and the general community at large, we have decided to postpone the book fair,” Kalita added.
Preparations to hold the 33rd Guwahati Book Fair was almost complete and book lovers from across Assam were enthusiastic about it.
