The foundation stone laying ceremony for Karbi Bhawan and Dimasa Bhawan at Dwarka in New Delhi had to be postponed due to sudden demise of former Delhi chief minister, Sheila Dikshit.

The foundation laying ceremony by union home minister Amit Shah as part of Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) agreement at Sector 13 of Dwarka in the national capital was scheduled to be held on Sunday.
It will be done after re-scheduling the date by a week.
Though it has to be postponed, but a short meeting was held.
Rajya Sabha MP, Biswajeet Daimary said it was the fruit of the signing of MoS by United People’s Democratic Solidarity (UPDS) and Dima Hasam Daogah (DHD) with the Central Government and will benefit the people of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao.
Though the laying of foundation stone could not be held, but will be done within a week, he further said.
Some people opposed the Bodoland House and Bodo Bhawan in New Delhi as the house is only for the Bodos, but when the house was completed anyone coming to Delhi from Assam could stay there.
Likewise, the Karbi Bhawan and Dimasa Bhawan will not be only for the Karbis and Dimasas, but anyone from Karbi Anglong and Dimasa can come and stay here, Daimary further added.
MP Horensing Bey thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allotting the land by the Central Government for Karbi Bhawan and Dimasa Bhawan which will benefit the people of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao.
Bey was general secretary of erstwhile UPDS.
He mentioned that many lives were lost during the armed struggle by UPDS and DHD.
CEM, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang said, “The foundation stone laying is not cancelled, but postponed due to the sudden demise of former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit.”
“Tomorrow we will discuss the next date and will be done within this week. Amit Shah has consented to be present again and we can apprise him for full implementation of the MoS accord of UPDS and DHD,” he added.
He also said Rs 13000.50 crores was proposed in the MoS of UPDS, but received Rs 75 crores only.
Parliamnetarian Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, union minister Ramesor Tali, HAD minister Sum Ronghang, MLAs Joyram Engleng, Dr Mansing Rongpi, Dr Numal Momin, KAAC deputy chairman Ritesh Enghi, CEM, DHAC Debolal Garlosa and EMs and MACs of KAAC and DHAC were present.
Rank and file of the erstwhile UPDS and DHD were also present.
Former chairman, UPDS, Monsing Rongphar, former vice president, Moniram Ronghang, former joint secretaries Kangjang Terang and Surjya Rongphar, former defence secretary, Mathew Engleng and others were present on the occasion.
