The Election Commission (EC) on Saturday announced by-elections to 64 assembly seats in the country.
Chief Elections Commissioner Sunil Arora announced the dates of the bypolls besides the date date Assembly polls in Haryana and Maharashtra.
The bypolls in the four Assembly seats in Assam, one seat each in Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh and three seats in Sikkim will be held on October 21.
The schedule for bypolls is as follows:
Date of Issue of Gazette Notification: September 23
Last Date of Nominations: September 30
Date for Scrutiny of Nominations: October 1
Last Date for Withdrawal of Candidatures: October 3
Date of Election: October 21
Date of Counting, By-poll result date: October 24
