An earthquake of moderate intensity in the Richter Scale jolted Assam on Wednesday morning.
Tremors were also felt in several other parts of the Northeast.
The magnitude of the earthquake has been measured to be 5.2 in the Richter Scale, as per the National Center for Seismology.
The earthquake was felt at 8:45am.
Goalpara in lower Assam was the epicenter of the earthquake.
However, no damage to property or loss of life has been reported till the filing of this report.
