Dibrugarh based dental surgeon Subhodeep Paul has taken to composing songs to beat the depressing sentiments induced by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

He released his first video song ‘Dhemali te’ in Dibrugarh on Saturday.

The pandemic induced nationwide lockdown gave him immense time to follow his dreams.

“The lockdown has given me ample opportunity to follow my dream as a musician. During the lockdown period I chanced upon my old diary, where I had penned down my old memories and a few songs,” said Subhodeep Paul.

“I wrote ‘Dhemali te’ in 1995 when I was in my college hostel. I composed the song on my synthesizer,” he said.

“The lockdown period was a depressing phase for everyone, but it gave me a chance to follow my dream to become a musician,” he added.

Paul had started experimenting with his synthesizer when he was in the X standard.

He left his instrument, which his father had gifted him, at home when he joined the Regional Dental College and only played it when he came home during the vacation.

“I started composing songs and played at college functions from where I was selected to play with renowned stage performers like Santana Kalita, Hemen Bharali and many more,” said Paul.

“I invested my earnings to purchase more keyboards and began recording with Nanda Banerjee at Uzir studio in Guwahati,” he said.

The dental surgeon also said that every person should follow his passion. Everyone can fulfill his dream with determination and skill.
