The Assam government on Wednesday issued a set of additional guidelines in view of the steep rise in Covid-19 cases in the state.
These guidelines issued by Assam chief secretary Jishnu Barua are additions to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) that were issued by the Assam government on Tuesday.
As per the new guidelines, restaurants, dhabas and other eateries can entertain dine-in guest only up to 6 pm, while take away/ home delivery is allowed up to the usual time of closure as per local regulations.

Restaurants operating within a hotel or resort can allow outside guests up to 6 pm only, though in-house guests may be allowed to dine-in up to the usual time of operation.
Delivery of essential goods through e-Commerce may continue after 6 pm.
Cold storages and warehouses may continue beyond 6 pm, while sale counters, showrooms etc attached to these warehouses or cold storages shall close after 6 pm.
On the other hand, essential services like all pharmacies, hospitals, animal care centres and veterinary clinics may operate without restrictions.
A total of 1651 people tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, taking the total number of positive cases in Assam to 2,27,473.
Kamrup (Metro) has the highest case load with 742 patients testing positive on Tuesday.
The disease claimed three more lives on Tuesday, taking the total death toll to 1,145.
Currently, the state has 7,685 active cases.
