Sensation prevails after the murder of an aged couple in the Beltola area of Guwahati last night.

The incident has taken place at Chandan Nagar in Beltola’s Survey area.

The victim couple has been identified as 86-year-old Nani Gopal Barua and his wife 81-year-old Meena Barua.

The blood-stained bodies of the aged couple were recovered from the bedroom of their residence in the morning on Tuesday.

It has been suspected that the murderer entered Barua’s house after cutting the grill of a window.

According to the initial investigation, it has come to light that the murderer entered the house through the window and looted several valuables.

The doors of the house have also been found damaged.

The caretaker while going to Barua’s house in the morning on Tuesday for delivering breakfast first noticed the broken grill.

It is suspected that the couple was murdered by attacking them in their heads with a sharp weapon.

Question of security in the capital city of Assam has been raised after the murder of the aged couple in their bedroom.

The police have started an investigation into the incident.

According to sources, while one of the daughters of the couple lives in London, another daughter lives in Mumbai.

The police have registered a case and started interrogating the caretaker, Akash Choudhury.
