Midland Hospital situated in the Sree Nagar area of Guwahati was sanitized by the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) on Sunday.

The hospital was sanitized after reports emerged that Guwahati’s first COVID-19 patient, who is a resident of Spanish Garden in the Zoo Road area of the city, underwent treatment there.

Six staff members of the hospital, including doctors, nurses and accountant, have also been sent to quarantine.

Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday informed that the patient from Spanish Garden came in contact with 111 persons and all of them have been quarantined at the Sarusajai quarantine centre.

He also informed that the patient’s wife tested negative for coronavirus.
