Amid the rising number of Covid-19 positive cases in Assam, the Karbi Anglong police in collaboration with Bokajan administration has set up a dedicated 24×7 control room in Khatkhati to meet any exigency during the lockdown period as part of efforts to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.

The control room would effectively answer to queries and extend help to citizens to fight coronavirus pandemic.

The control room is aimed at keeping a close tab on the movement of person with history of travel to Coronavirus  hotspots and those who had been home quarantined in the district.

Karbi Anglong SP Debojit Deori formally inaugurated the control room at Khatkhati Rains Inn Hotel in presence of Bokajan MLA Numal Momin, MAC Mukut Mahanta and Bokajan SDO Dilip Terang among others.

People of the Bokajan sub-division can now contact the control room on 7099346091 & 9864648807 in case of any medical emergency or matters related to difficulties in accessing essential service and commodities.

MLA Momin had already arranged passes under exempted category for patients who go for regular Haemodialysis to neighbouring Nagaland and had been facing difficulty due to the nationwide lockdown.

“People can report about quarantine violators and can also inform about persons who arrived in their locality from corona hotspots in the country and abroad,” Momin said.

“The Bokajan health department had quarantined a total of 721 people of which 553 have already completed the 14 days quarantine period. The rest 168 would also complete quarantine in the following couple of days,” the MLA added.

The restrictions on the movement and assembly of people continued for the 11 consecutive days in Bokajan with Police requesting people to stay indoors and help curb the spread of the deadly virus.
