Assam Congress president Ripun Bora on Friday promised one job in each family and free electricity up to 120 units if Congress is voted to power in 2021 Assembly polls.

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora made the announcement during an interaction with media persons in Guwahati on the first day of the New Year.

“If Congress comes to power in Assam, there will be an employee in a house. In a family where there is no one, who is engaged either in government or private services, will have a job,” Ripun Bora promised.

He also said, “Under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY), the BPL and middle-class families will be provided free electricity up to 120 units which will benefit 58 lakh families in Assam,” Bora said.

Bora also announced that if the Congress comes to power, the government will waive off the agri loans of the farmers and the microfinance loans of the women.

He informed that the people of the rural areas, mainly the women, have faced huge trouble in repaying the loans they had taken through microfinance.

Bora said the Congress has decided to waive of the loans of those people if the party comes to power in Assam.

He informed that the agri loans of the farmers have already been waived off in states like Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
