China Daily posts photos of Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon

 The Chinese national English language newspaper China Daily has uploaded and posted the aerial view of the Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon recently in its website. It is the upper stream of the Brahmaputra River. Originating at Angsi Glacier in western Tibet, southeast of Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar, it later forms the South Tibet Valley and Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon before passing into the state of Arunachal Pradesh, India.

Strategically the post is significant as China has refused to share hydrological data of the Brahmaputra with India on the pretext of upgrading and renovating data collection station in Tibet. China reportedly suspended sharing of hydrological data with India following Doklam standoff.
