The Bud Cricket Club of Guwahati emerged champion in the 3rd Assam Premier Club Championship defeating Tiranga Cricket Club of Barpeta by 10 runs at the Jalan Nagar Outdoor Stadium in Dibrugarh on Saturday.

Batting first, the Bud Cricket Club of Guwahati scored 162/5 in 35 overs.

In reply, the Tiranga Cricket Club of Barpeta scored 152/6 in 35 overs.

For the Bud Cricket Club, Sourpam Purakasthay scored 57 off 82 balls, hitting three sixes and one four while Parag Das contributed 38 runs.

For Tiranga Cciket Club, Manash Gogoi scored 48 runs.

Pusparaj Sharma took two wickets for the Bud Cricket Club.

Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal handed over the champion’s trophy to Bud Cricket Club of Guwahati.

Sonowal congratulated the winning team for their performance.

He said Assam Cricket Association is doing good work by organising such championship to showcase the talents of the players.

The prize distribution ceremony was also attended by Assam Cricket Association (ACA) president Ramen Dutta, ACA secretary Debajit Saikia, Dibrugarh MLA Prashanta Phukan, Lahoal MLA Rituparna Baruah, Moran MLA Chakradhar Gogoi and Hojai MLA Shiladitya Dev.

Dibrugarh District Sports Association (DDSA) president Dr Debajit Dutta and DDSA secretary Niranjan Saikia were also present at the event.

The Dibrugarh District Sports Association (DDSA) under the aegis of the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) organised the 3rd Assam Premier Club Championship cricket tournament from April 1 to 10 at Jalan Nagar Outdoor Stadium, Dibrugarh.
