Amid the inter-state boundary tension between Mizoram-Assam, Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati on Monday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi.

As per reports, during the meeting, the Governor discussed the prevailing security situation in the bordering areas with Assam.

This was the first meeting of Mizoram Governor with the Home Minister Shah after the violent clash between the police personnel of the two states on July 26.

Six policemen and a civilian of Assam were killed and over 60 persons including one superintendent of police injured in the clash.

The Mizoram government has withdrawn the FIR registered against Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and other police officials on Sunday which was duly reciprocated by the Assam Police which also withdrew the FIR against Mizoram MP K Vanlalvena on Monday in a bid to de-escalate tension along the border.
