Much to the delight of the students’ community and book lovers, the Darrang administration of Assam has granted permission to reopen 10 bookstalls of Mangaldai town.

These 10 book stalls will remain open for three days in a week for a period of three hours – from 10 am to 1 pm.

In two separate orders issued by ADC Nabajyoti Oja on Wednesday, these 10 book stalls of text books are allowed to open from Wednesday to Friday of a week in between 10 am and 1 pm.

The opening is also subject to the fulfillment of adopting social distancing and isolation and other safety measures with arrangement of limited staff as per guidelines of Assam COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 under the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1987 for prevention and containment of COVID-19.

“In two separate orders altogether 10 book stalls of Mangaldai town are allowed to reopen from Wednesday to Friday in a week from 10 am to 1 pm of the said three days,” said ADC Oja while talking to Northeast Now.

The list of book stalls which will avail the opportunity are Jnan Mandir, Assam Book Stall, Jnanjyoti Book Stall, Kitap Kanan, Golden Book Centre, Rumi Store, Chakravarty Book Stall, Sarathi Book Stall, Ram Dhenu Book Stall and New Book Stall .

It may be mentioned here that there are around 20 book stalls presently functioning in Mangaldai town.
