Kokrajhar has been decorated with 70,000 earthen lamps to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Modi will arrive at Kokrajhar in Assam on Friday and address a huge rally at a function organized to celebrate the signing of the third Bodo Accord.
Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is monitoring the entire preparations, while sharing a video on his Twitter handle, said: “What a Spectacular View! Kokrajhar is all decked up with 70,000 earthen lamps to welcome Hon PM @narendramodi to #Assam on February 7.”

Earlier on Thursday, Modi, while informing about his Assam visit tweeted: “Tomorrow, I look forward to being in Assam. I will be in Kokrajhar to address a public meeting.”
“We will mark the successful signing of the Bodo Accord, which brings to an end a problem that had been persisting for decades. It marks the start of a new era of peace and progress.”
While sharing Modi’s tweet, Himanta Biswa Sarma said: “Posterity shall remember you for possessing a rare resolve to bring amicable solution to vexed issues. We’re forever grateful Hon PM for your robust leadership and guidance in achieving this #BodoPeaceAccord. #Kokrajhar is thrilled.”

The third Bodo Accord was signed in New Delhi on January 27 with all the four factions of the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) and the All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) in presence of union home minister Amit Shah.
Sharing pictures of gate and posters of Prime Minister Modi and union home minister Shah on the roads to welcome them, the BJP supporters in the Bodoland region tweeted: “We all ready to welcome the Prime Minister of India Shri @narendramodi & Home Minister Shri @AmitShah at our BODOLAND TERRITORIAL REGION (BTR) in KOKRAJHAR tomorrow. Full preparation is going on.”
