Assam’s young dancer Raktim Thakuria has been selected as one of the top 5 finalists in season two of the Sony TV reality show – India’s Best Dancer.

22-year-old Thakuria, a promising dancer, hails from Saderi village in Lower Assam’s Bajali district.

The dance competition is considered one of the best dance competitions in the country.

His stellar performance in the dance contest managed to draw the attention of the audience.

Raktim completed his BA in Political science from Delhi University. He is the son of Gajendra Nath Thakuria who worked as programme producer at Doordarshan Kendra, Guwahati.

His mother Moromi Thakuria teaches English at Hangerabari Jr. College in Guwahati.

“He is very hardworking since his childhood. He learned to dance from YouTube. We feel proud of him. I request the people to vote for him,” said Raktim’s father Gajendra Nath Thakuria.
