A total of six youths reportedly attacked two officials of the Guwahati Traffic Police department in the city’s Panbazaar area.
All the six youths were later arrested by the police after an FIR was lodged against the youths for the crime.
The incident took place late on Saturday night when the two traffic police officials had stopped one of the youths while he was riding in a high speed.
Later, the youth returned to the spot with five other accomplices and beat up the two traffic policemen.

The policemen, who were attacked have been identified as Ritupan Saikia of the Panbazar Traffic Police and Utpal Gohain of the Latasil Traffic Police.
According to reports, one of the youths is the son of a policeman from Panbazar police station in Guwahati.
