A meritorious youth allegedly committed suicide after he was upset over a quarrel with his girlfriend in Beltola village under Kalaigaon PS of Udalguri district on Wednesday.
The deceased was aged around 22 years and was pursuing engineering from a private engineering college in Guwahati.
Sources informed that his mother and sister were not present at home when he committed suicide.
Speaking to the media the girl in question admitted of having a quarrel with the deceased, which lead to the end of their three-year-old relationship.
Police informed that a case was registered and the girl’s statement was recorded.
