Guwahati: Assam will continue to grapple with scorching temperatures over the next 24 hours.

The maximum temperatures are expected to range between 36°C and 38°C across the state.

Southern Assam is predicted to experience the most severe heatwave conditions.

It may be mentioned that the heatwave claimed another life on Saturday.

A 55-year-old daily wage labourer succumbed to the extreme heat in Rangia, Kamrup.

His family said that he collapsed after returning home from work.

However, as they rushed him to the local hospital, the man was declared dead by the doctors on arrival.

It may be mentioned that the areas in Rangia have been witnessing a heatwave of 27°C to 36.7°C with a feel of 43.3°C.

Similar temperatures have been reported across the state.

Despite rain and thunderstorms in some other parts of the state, the heat remains at an all-time high.
