Assam is all set to get its seventh medical college in Diphu.

This was revealed by state finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday.

In a tweet, Sarma stated:

‘We remain committed to peace, progress and people’s welfare!’

In yet another feather in our record of continuous development, #Assam is set to get its 7th medical college in Diphu,” he added.

A team from the Medical Council of India (MCI) had visited Diphu Medical College for inspection on Friday and Saturday.

“A Medical Council of India team inspected the Diphu Medical College on Dec 20 and 21,” Sarma added.

It may be mentioned that there are currently six medical colleges in Assam.

These six medical colleges are Guwahati Medical College, Assam Medical College, Silchar Medical College, Jorhat Medical College, Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Tezpur Medical College.
