Guwahati: A man from Lakhimpur was robbed in Guwahati, Assam by an unidentified person(s) on Saturday.

According to reports, the man who had come to Guwahati for some official work had left his car parked in the Survey area.

It was during this period when someone had broken the glass of his car and took away Rs 26 thousand in cash, some documents and a .32 pistol with seven rounds of ammunition.

The man identified as Wasim Hazarika said that he parked the car and went to a hotel for a meeting with a friend.

However, when he came back he saw that the window of his car was smashed and the valuables were taken away.

He claimed that he had no idea who might have been behind the theft.

Hazarika also said that the gun was licenced and the thieves also took away the licence along with the other documents.

He further said that an FIR was filed at the Dispur Police Station in connection with the incident.
