Guwahati: A man suspected of being a linkman of the banned militant outfit, United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) was detained by the Assam Rifles in Charaideo district on Saturday.

The detainee was identified as Mohammad Sahabuddin.
He works as a driver and is a resident of Namtola near the Assam-Nagaland border.
The police source said that there are inputs that he may have maintained connections with the militant group.
The police said that they are currently investigating the extent of Sahabuddin’s alleged activities.
