Principal of B. H. B. College, Birinchi Kumar Das on Saturday urged the student community to gather information about various career opportunities and channel their potential in the right direction.

Das said this while addressing students at a career counselling programme organized in the college premises in Sarupeta in the newly formed Bajali district.

The career counselling and placement cell of B. H. B. College in association with Pragati Edutech, Guwahati organized the counselling camp.

“Despite being capable the students of rural areas fail to properly utilize the opportunities available in different fields mainly for two reasons; lack of information and not choosing the right career,” said Birinchi Kumar Das.

During the programme, resource persons from Pragati Edutech appraised participating students about the career opportunities available in the field of hospitality, aviation and tourism and informed them about the various courses available in these areas.

About 150 students attended the programme along with faculty members of the college.
