A 13-year-old student was reportedly drowned in Gurang river in Kokrajhar district of Assam on Thursday afternoon.

Identified as Santanu Rava, the deceased was a student of Class IV of PCM Babyland English Medium School.

His body was dished out from Boro Bhattarmari area on Friday morning with the help of locals and the police.

Sources informed that Rava had gone to the river with some of his friends to take a bath.

“But unfortunately the young boy got washed away and drowned,” the sources added.

The deceased was a resident of Mwiderkhoro area of Kokrajhar.
