Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker Hitendra Nath Goswami on Sunday contributed Rs 1,50,000 to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
He handed over the cheque to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at the latter’s official residence at Brahmaputra State Guest House in Guwahati.
The Speaker at the same time contributed Rs 1 lakh to PM CARES fund and handed over the cheque to the Chief Minister.
The Speaker also handed over cheques that he received during his last visit to Jorhat from different individuals and organizations to the Chief Minister as contributions to Assam Arogya Nidhi.
Chief Minister Sonowal thanked the Speaker for showing his spirit of benevolence towards the prevailing situation.
