Assam: Youth kills mother in Dibrugarh after being denied money to buy mobile phone

DIBRUGARH: In a horrific incident, a youth allegedly murdered his mother in upper Assam’s Dibrugarh district. 

The youth identified as Jintu Das killed his mother with a sharp weapon after being denied money to buy a new mobile phone. 

The incident has been reported from Changmai Gaon under the Lahowal police station in the Dibrugarh district. 

The victim has been identified as Renu Das.

The accused boy has been arrested by the police in Dibrugarh district in Assam. 

“After killing his mother, the boy took Rs 16,000 and fled. He was arrested from his hiding place at Chandmari ghat in Dibrugarh,” said a police official.
