The Kamrup (Metro) district administration from Wednesday allowed shops and stalls dealing with books related to school and college curriculum.

According to a district administration order, the shops have been allowed to operate only from 10 am to 5 pm.

The shops have been asked to primarily arrange for home delivery of books, but if anyone wishes to collect the books from the shop without using vehicles, he/she may be allowed to do so, the district administration stated.

No individuals will be issued passes for the collection of books from the book shops/stalls, it added.

The owners and employees of the book shops/stalls have also been asked to wear masks and ensure that they maintain social distancing while carrying out their duties.

The book shops/stalls should also be sanitized regularly, the district administration stated.

The proprietors of the book shops are asked to issue identity cards to their employees so that they could commute in their vehicles smoothly and without facing any difficulties amid the nationwide lockdown.
