Senior journalist from Assam – Shivcharan Kalita has died of COVID-19.
Shivcharan Kalita died due to COVID-19 in a Guwahati hospital on Friday.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has expressed grief at the demise of Shivcharan Kalita.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma while condoling the death of the senior journalist has extended sympathies to the family of the deceased.

The COVID-19 situation in Assam continues to be grim with high number of COVID-19 deaths being reported on a daily basis.
On Thursday Assam logged as many as 75 COVID-19 deaths.
