GUWAHATI: Security forces in Cachar district of Assam have seized a huge quantity of narcotics substance.

Troopers of the Assam Rifles in joint operation with Cachar police recovered and seized Yaba tablets worth Rs 3 crore in the international markets.

The Yaba tablets were seized by the Assam Rifles troopers and personnel of Cachar police from Ramnagar area in Silchar town of Cachar district.

A total of 20,000 Yaba tablets were seized by the security personnel.

Two drug peddlers were also apprehended by the security personnel in connection with the seizure of the drug.

Meanwhile, the seized narcotics tablets and the arrested individual have been handed over to the Assam police for further investigation and legal proceedings.
