Two persons were seriously injured after their bike collided head-on with a car at Bokel in Assam’s Dibrugarh on Saturday.

The injured were taken to the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in serious condition.

According to eyewitnesses, a Mahindra XUV-300 car collided head-on with a Pulsar bike, bearing registration no (AS06-55434) on Thursday morning.

“A woman and her son were on a motorcycle which was running at a maximum speed. The Mahindra car was coming from the opposite direction. Both of the vehicles could not control their speed and collided head-on,” said a local.

The injured persons have been identified as Riku Gogoi and Sunmoni Gogoi of the Bokpara area of Dibrugarh.

“Most of the accidents take place due to high speed of the vehicles. We appeal to the people to control the speed while riding vehicles on the National Highways,” a traffic police officer of Dibrugarh said.

“In recent times, many accidents have taken place in Dibrugarh and many lives have lost their lives due to road accidents,” the police officer added.
